Film Camera  … Action!

My name is Vaid Prakash, or you can call me “VP” for short. I have spent more than 4 decades in the films/television industry, starting as a sound-recordist, a role that is extremely vital to the making of films and working my way up, to Story / Screenplay Writing, Editing and Direction. My work has received recognition at both national and international platforms.

I retired from my full-time job and the responsibilities it entailed in April 2012, thus giving me the creative and production independence.
Being well versed with the major parlance of Films Production. right after my retirement from full time job,I started working as a freelance film maker, writing books and teaching & training younger generation of film makers, under the banner of “DVP FILMS”
My first major book titled “The Art of Movie Making” has already been published and released in May 2012. Presently  I am working on yet another book on the related subject.

In 1987- Did my first tele-film “PUL” – The Bridge, based on a short story of same title by Tara Danpuri, a prominent Dogri writer.  The title song of the film was composed and sung by the famous Playback singer Sukhwinder.
